Potential reduction in the physical field

Adaption to the structure of the physical field simply takes place by potential reduction. The apple falls off the tree. The system Earth/apple is heading for a condition with the lowest energy level.

The physical system is striving for the local minimum. It is not able to recognize the even more beneficial condition and arrive at it via a potential threshold. A ball will roll to the local spot with the lowest altitude.
